Kaido – The platform that creates experts

Anyone who has ever been helped by a true expert knows what a difference it makes. You can ask your questions exactly as they occur to you — a little unstructured, without the correct technical terms, and without first needing to understand the entire subject area. And you still get an answer that genuinely helps.

That is the exact opposite of how traditional information retrieval often works. In those cases, you usually need to know exactly what you are looking for, what it is called, and how it is typically described in documentation and regulations. Only then can you find the right information.

Kaido is our proprietary platform for creating digital experts in complex knowledge domains.

Its purpose is to make specialized information more accessible, more useful, and easier to understand for people who are not experts themselves. With Kaido, users can ask questions in plain language and receive answers based on structured, relevant, and quality-assured information.

The first public solution built on Kaido is Bygglovsexperten Tryggve for the Municipality of Trelleborg. Tryggve is designed to answer questions about building permits, regulations, local provisions, and other conditions that apply specifically in Trelleborg. Much of its knowledge comes from the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket), but the solution can also be supplemented with municipality-specific information — for example, whether a property is heritage-listed, located within a shoreline protection area, or subject to particular local regulations.

But building permits are only one of many possible use cases. Kaido is well-suited to any context where there is extensive documentation, numerous regulations, or large amounts of specialist knowledge that are difficult to navigate.

What is central to Kaido is not which language model is used in the chat itself. Any LLM can be used as the user-facing text interface. The real core of Kaido lies in how we systematically structure information to create the conditions for accurate, relevant, and traceable answers. That is where its true strength lies.

Kaido is therefore not simply about connecting a language model to a collection of documents. It is about building a robust knowledge structure in which information can be organized, linked, and reused in a controlled way. This enables users to receive answers that do not just sound good, but are also grounded in the right source material.

Technically, this is supported by smart information structuring, chunking, and the ability to use graph databases. Chunking means dividing larger documents into smaller, semantically meaningful sections. This makes it easier to identify the exact information block needed for a specific question, rather than sending entire sets of documents every time. The result is better precision and higher answer quality.

Graph databases are also highly relevant in this type of solution, because they make it possible to model relationships between different types of information. This may include connections between rules, exceptions, geographic areas, properties, documents, and decisions. Instead of treating knowledge as isolated pieces of text, it becomes possible to build a structure in which the relationships between different elements of information are clear and usable.

It is in this combination that Kaido becomes especially powerful: a simple, natural text interface for the user, combined with a carefully designed structure beneath the surface that makes the answers more precise, more reliable, and more useful.
